Gardenia Salon and Spa Reviews

I initially came in for a gelx full set. When a nail popped off 2 days later, the owner wanted to make it right. Terry saved the day as she spent 4 hours removing the faulty set and installing a new builder gel full set with nail art that eats! Cat eye base with isolated chrome. She was meticulous, spent time explaining steps, and suggested design edits to personalized my nails to my upcoming event dress. Terry is a must! I also had Rhonda as a stylist for my haircut. She spent time showing me where my bangs and layers would hit and confirmed my vision before cutting. I'm used to salons providing hot tool styling like curls/straightening as part of the service. I think the price of the haircut is absolutely appropriate for this disparity. A little bit of leave in conditioner would be a nice touch.

So easy to make an appointment. Everyone in the salon is so kind and helpful. Leyna did my nails and hair and she is so accommodating and kind. She made sure I was comfortable and things were looking how I wanted. Book with her if you want quick and beautiful services!

Terry's nail services are the best! She really knows her craft. The hairdressers are wonderful. K

I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like I should with this one. I came in needing a root touch up as well as a couple shades lighter all over. I'm in a musical and they want me platinum, something that wouldn't be difficult considering my hair is already about a level 9 and exceptionally healthy. The stylist at Gardenia agreed that my hair was healthy enough to bleach, but insisted I would be content with "just toner". I repeated myself multiple times to no avail. I should have walked out then, but I had rehearsal the rest of the day and a photoshoot the next morning, so I chose getting at least my roots done over nothing at all. I understand that I pull brassy, but it's not hard to lift the actual levels of my hair. I left with roots that were bright yellow and multiple levels darker than the length. She toned it three separate times and I still left with bright yellow. She insisted that purple shampoo would fix it (it did not) I have never had this issue with any salon in my hometown. I also have never had a sensitive scalp, and have never had any issues with itching or burning. I told her it was irritating my skin and she didn't even respond. My scalp was burning for days afterwards. I feel like the $70 spent on this service was completely wasted. I cried over how ridiculous I looked. It is one thing to listen to your customer's concerns and try everything you can, but it's another to completely blow them off and not do what they asked. I'd understand if it needed to be done in sessions or if my hair wasn't healthy enough to mess with, but this absolutely wasn't the case. If the cosmetology students at my old high school could do it, then it can be done. I'm upset not only because I'm unsatisfied with my hair, but because she was really quite nice. She wasn't rude, just incredibly dismissive. You wouldn't have someone come in to get a pixie cut and tell them "I think you'd be happy with shoulder length" so why do it with chemical services? You do not know what your client wants better than they do. The only good thing I got out of this was realizing that I need to stand my ground and stick up for myself more. I'm really upset with this experience. Definitely won't be going back.

I had my nails done by Terry. She did an amazing job. The price was very reasonable and it is a quaint little salon where I had a chance to relax and enjoy a little me time. I already recommended it to a friend and will be back!
